Kitchens

Kitchen installation, from the idea to the fitting conversation

Whether it's a villa kitchen with an island or a compact apartment run, the first step is the same: tell us about the room and what you want to change. Nothing to fill in first.

Worth separating

A style, a scope, a room and a quotation are four different things

Most confusion about kitchens comes from treating them as one. Here is how we think about them.
01

Visual style

What you want it to feel like: warm wood, light and neutral, a coloured island. The gallery helps you say this.

02

Installation scope

What actually gets done: replace units only, change the layout, move the sink, new worktops, new lighting.

03

Room assessment

What the room allows: walls, floors, services, ventilation and access for delivery.

04

Quotation

What it costs once scope and room are understood. Not from a photo, and not before the room is assessed.

What an installation can involve

The work behind a new kitchen

Not every project includes every stage, and we'll be clear about which parts we would carry out and which need another specialist, for your project specifically.

Structural changes, gas work, specialist stone worktops and regulated electrical work are only ever undertaken by appropriately qualified trades. We won't describe any of that as "we do it all".

  1. 01

    Preparation

Agreeing what stays, what goes and how the rest of the home is protected.

  2. 02

    Removal

Taking out the existing kitchen and arranging how waste leaves the property.

  3. 03

    Cabinet fitting

Levelling, fixing and aligning units, doors and drawers to the actual walls and floor.

  4. 04

    Worktop coordination

Templating and fitting. Stone and specialist surfaces may need a dedicated fabricator.

  5. 05

    Appliances

Positions, housings, ventilation and who connects what.

  6. 06

    Plumbing interfaces

Sink, dishwasher and washing machine supply and waste routes.

  7. 07

    Electrical requirements

Sockets, circuits and lighting. Regulated work is carried out by qualified electricians.

  8. 08

    Finishing

Plinths, panels, sealing, trims and the details that make it look right.

  9. 09

    Handover

Walking through the finished kitchen, and what to look after.

Practical trade-offs

What looks good versus what works every day

Storage

Deep drawers usually beat cupboards for everyday use. Open shelving looks lovely and gathers dust and grease.

Working space

The clear worktop between sink and hob is where cooking happens. An island needs comfortable walkways on every side.

Maintenance

Timber worktops need oiling; gloss shows fingerprints; some stone needs sealing. Ask about the surface, not just the colour.

Access for installation

Long worktops and tall units have to get into the property: lifts, stairs, gates and parking all matter.

Kitchen questions

Useful answers, before you ask

Sometimes. Keeping carcasses and changing doors or worktops can work if the units are sound and square. It is something we would look at in photos or on a visit rather than promise in advance.

Tell us what you have ordered, from whom, and when it arrives. Whether we can install owner-supplied products is confirmed for each project; please don’t assume it until we have discussed it.

The property type and area, a few photos of the current room, rough measurements if you have them, and any pictures of the look you like. A gallery reference such as K-005 is enough to explain the style.

The condition of the existing room, whether the layout changes, the products chosen, preparation needed, access for delivery and removal, specialist trades and the agreed finishing scope.

Often. Moving a sink or hob can mean plumbing, waste, gas or electrical changes, and occasionally building work. Those are identified during assessment and handled by appropriately qualified people.

We ask about lifts, stairs, parking, gates and building rules, and check long items such as worktops against the route into the room. In apartments, the community or building manager may have its own requirements.

A leak or plumbing repair rather than a new kitchen? CostaFlow handles plumbing within the group.

Your own idea

I have a different kitchen in mind

Send us your inspiration and tell us about the installation. The gallery is a starting point for a conversation, not the limit of what you can ask about.

WhatsApp opens with a written draft. Photos, supplier links, a sketch or measurements are added by you inside WhatsApp; this website does not upload anything. We can't promise every pictured item can be supplied or fitted, which is exactly what the conversation is for.

The next step

Tell us about your kitchen, the property and the area.

Start by sharing your room, broad area and what you want to change. Photos and rough measurements help establish what needs discussing; a photograph alone is not a quotation.
